This July raise funds for the Miscarriage Association

Throughout the month of July, the Miscarriage Association is asking people to help them raise awareness of the impact of pregnancy loss – and funds to help the charity to continue to be there to support women and their partners through what can be a deeply upsetting, frightening, and isolating time.

The charity has said that in the UK, around 250,000 pregnancies are estimated to end in miscarriage each year. That’s 21,000 losses in one month alone. For many, however early pregnancy is lost, it represents the end of hopes, dreams, and a planned future together as a family. The Miscarriage Association is here to try to ensure that no one has to go through this alone.

To reflect on this very sad statistic, the charity is encouraging people to support the MA this summer by taking on a challenge based on the number 21. Whether it’s running 21 miles, cycling 210 miles, or walking 210,000 steps – so long as the challenge is started and completed during the month of July and has a connection to the number 21, you can be as creative as you want.

A Miscarriage Association spokeswoman said: “This is the third year we have offered our supporters the opportunity to join our summer virtual event, and we’re hoping as many of you as possible can join us this July.”

New for this year, the charity is offering active participants a free bespoke Mile That Matter T-shirt to wear to help boost fundraising and awareness during your challenge. You’ll receive an email from us explaining how to get yours once your page has received more than £10 in donations (the minimum amount to cover our costs).

If you’d like to join in, you can set up your fundraising page by clicking here.
