The local charity supporting the full range of experiences involved in trying to become a parent

Today we want to introduce you to an incredible small charity based in Eastbourne, UK – Muma Nurture

Muma Nurture is an Eastbourne based charity providing support for those affected by infertility, pregnancy, and perinatal death. Whether current or historic, personal or indirect through specialist counselling, holistic therapies, groups and community activities.

This wonderful charity supports the full range of experiences involved in becoming or trying to become a parent from trying or struggling to conceive and fertility treatments to pregnancy, emotional wellbeing and mental health struggles during pregnancy, miscarriage, termination, still birth, birth trauma and postnatal depression.

The charity conservatively estimate that 55% of people on the “path to parenthood” are affected by the issues they support and yet often these struggles are unspoken, shameful and secretive.

Muma Nurture provides the opportunity to belong to a community where you can feel normal and belong. Everybody at Muma Nurture has personal experience of the issues they support.

Sasha from the charity tells us…

“One of our biggest struggles is making sure people know we are here and can find us at their time of need. We try and get everybody in for a consultation within a week and additional services as soon as possible after that. There is no major wait list or delay. All services have a cost, and we ask if possible that you donate towards that. If you can’t you are still very welcome to therapy and support from us. If you are able to cover the full cost, this helps us continue to support others.

“Our primary service is specialist counselling and we provide this online or in person in our new Eastbourne office at Unit 4 Beverley Business Park, 6 Finmere Road, Eastbourne, BN22 8QG.

“We also have a specialist fertility and maternity Reflexologist, as well as an array of groups and community events”.

Further information about the charity and their online community can be found on their new website at www.mumanurture.org
