RESOLVE to host walks of hope across the US to highlight infertility awareness

US charity RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association will host a series of walks across America  to raise awareness of infertility and support those who are affected by fertility struggles

The charity will host the walks in New England, North California later in September and October.

But the first will be held in the District of Colombia on Saturday, September 7 and it is hoped many people will go along to support the event, raising funds for the charity and wear clothing the colour of the event – orange.

The one-mile walk, which has attracted sponsorship from the Shady Grove Clinic and Ferring Pharmaceuticals, will begin at 9.30am and will take place at the Barrel Oak Winery, in Grove Lane, Delaplane, Virginia.

Brad Swalstead, consultant for two Shady Grove Clinics, Woodbridge and Fair Oaks, said the walk was an opportunity to support and unite the fertility community.

He said: “The Walk of Hope represents SGF’s commitment to the infertility community. It’s events like this that serve as a reminder of how common infertility is, with one in eight couples of reproductive age affected. It’s also meant to remind those who are struggling that they are not alone and that help is available.

“The Walk of Hope provides an opportunity to not only raise awareness for infertility but raise funds that support education programs and advocacy, which will be used to help others access the care they need to build their families.”

The MC for the event will be our wonderful contributor, Jennifer ‘Jay’ Palumbo, the author of the award-winning blog, The two week wait.
