Australian singer Natalie Imbruglia has given birth to a baby boy after announcing her pregnancy in the summer
The popular singer, 44, told the media she conceived using IVF and the help of a sperm donor. She said at the time of the announcement that becoming a mother was a lifelong dream.
Announcing the birth on Instagram, she said: “Welcome to the world, Max Valentine Imbruglia. My heart is bursting #myboy.”
She had more than 3,000 messages of congratulations from her 327,000 followers, including television presenter, Davina McCall, who said she was ‘thrilled’ for the singer, Louise Redknapp and Sophie Ellis Bextor.
Natalie found fame in the 1990s when she appeared in Australian soap Neighbours as Beth Brennan, after leaving the show she formed a successful music career and had a series of high profile relationships, including US actor, David Schwimmer and Lenny Kravitz.
Natalie was previously married to musician Daniel Johns but they divorced in 2008. In recent years she has said there was ‘any men around and that needs to be sorted first’.
