Made in Chelsea star Ollie Locke and husband Gareth to use surrogacy to become parents

Reality television star Ollie Locke and his husband Gareth are to use surrogacy to have a much-wanted child

The pair, who married in November 2020 in front of a handful of guests, revealed the news in an interview with The Times Style magazine.

The couple plan to use an American egg donor and a British surrogate to have the baby and both will provide the sperm but do not wish to know whose sperm will conceive the child.

Ollie, who is an original cast member of the hit Channel 4 reality tv show, said: “I want my own biological child. If Gareth and I can’t have biological children for whatever reason, of course, we can discuss adoption but surrogacy is our plan first.”

Ollie admitted that meeting Gareth had changed his mind about having children.

The 34-year-old told his 449,000 Instagram followers in a post after the interview that they were on the road to becoming fathers.

He said: “We are very nearly there, with the help of the best person we could ever ask for!

“After many months of planning, legal formalities, I can’t believe it has been so difficult and building the next stage of our home, we will soon be travelling to America (as soon as we can, sadly fertility is not essential travel) with our surrogate to become pregnant.

“Whatever happens and through the ups and downs we are going to take you on our journey.

“We have waited a long time to share this news, but with the help of @sophieberesiner who interviewed us for the Sunday Times Style we felt it was a hugely important discussion telling our story of how a couple who love each other  and desperately want a family are becoming parents.”
