US reality television star Khloe Kardashian and her basketball player boyfriend Tristan Thompson discuss their choices for having a sibling for daughter, True in the latest episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians
The pair have had their fair share of problems in recent years, but now they have reunited it seems they are keen to add to their brood.
And they have a lot of questions
Khloe, whose sister Kim had two children via surrogacy, said she wanted to make sure the person they chose was the ‘right fit for the family and that it was a ‘big commitment’ to make.
One of her main concerns is the surrogate being able to terminate a pregnancy if she was not willing to carry multiples, and she is seen discussing it with her surrogacy therapist.
Khloe said: “I’m definitely getting freaked out as the questions go by, because I, of course, I know it’s her body, my baby, but I really did not put two and two together that it would mean she has the control over whether she would want to, you know, terminate a twin. Me not having control over that outcome makes me very nervous.
“I mean, I know it’s her body but I still didn’t know it was really her choice and that might be really naive to say but I mean this is a big eye-opener. I’m definitely second-guessing a couple of things. It’s just a little intense this whole Zoom call.”
But after discussing the options with Tristan the couple decided to go ahead with surrogacy.
Tristan was confident that as long as they found the right surrogate all would be fine.
He said: “I know you love to be in control, and you love to have your say and be hands-on, but obviously in this situation for us, you kinda have to take a little step back. Of course, you can monitor, but you know we got to trust the process and know everything is going to be okay and we’re in this together, it gonna be fine.”
