Kiwi Fruit – maybe small but they pack a great nutritional punch! Kiwi Fruit contain one of the highest vitamin C content of any fruit. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant. Antioxidants play a key role in keeping our bodies energized, cleansed and invigorated. From vitamin C and E to folate, kiwifruit has it all — and then some! They also contain a good amount of fibre too.
Lime – are an excellent source of vitamin C and a good source of folate. Great for supporting the immune system, important in helping prevent neural tube defects in the developing foetus, protecting cells including the egg and sperm cells from free radical damage, aiding in the absorption of iron and much more..
Mint – a good source of iron, folate and beta carotene- adding to the balance and taste of this lovely shot.
Coconut water- is made from the clear liquid from the inside of green coconuts. It’s not to be confused with coconut milk, which is made from the water and the flesh from the inside of a mature coconut. It is fantastic for hydration as it contains natural electrolytes and is a great source of potassium – a brilliant post-workout drink. Low in calories, a good source of calcium, magnesium and packed full of antioxidants.
These ingredients combined pack a great nutritional punch which not only helps to hydrate our cells but provides anti- inflammatory and antioxidant benefits too- which help support fertility and the immune system too.
How to make your Shot:
Ingredients: (makes 2 shots)
- 3kiwi fruit (peeled and chopped)
- 1lime (juiced)
- 8 freshmint leaves
- 150ml of coconut water
Combine all ingredients together in a blender – pour over ice.
