How the Lister Clinic can help you conceive through its egg sharing scheme

Whether you are struggling to conceive or considering egg freezing for fertility preservation for the future, egg sharing offers women the opportunity for treatment for themselves while also helping someone grow theirs

As we all start families later and later, the need for egg donation is ever increasing as the most successful option for starting a family and as such the waiting times for a donor ever increasing. The Lister Clinic introduced the egg sharing programme more than 20 years ago to help meet the needs for safe, well-regulated donation treatment in an environment they trust.

How does it work?

The egg sharer needing IVF or ICSI for her own treatment receives her treatment at a discounted rate (often only having to pay the £80 HFEA fee) while donating half the eggs collected to someone who may have been waiting some considerable time for a suitable donor to fulfil her dream to start a family, often after years of failed attempts and heartbreak.

More than 1,000 babies have now been born to women receiving eggs from our sharers and over 1,000 babies born to those women sharing their eggs, many of whom had been denied NHS treatment and may otherwise not have been able to start or complete their families.

There are often some tough decisions to make and lots to consider before embarking on egg donation or considering being a sharer so our team of counsellors provide implications and support counselling before, during and after to help all through the process and is not something that is ever charged for.

More and more women are turning to fertility preservation

With the recent advances in the success of egg freezing, more and more women are considering fertility preservation to give themselves more options in the future and these women can also consider sharing their eggs with half frozen for their own use in the future if needed at that reduced cost and half being donated.

So, if you are aged 18 to 35 and considering fertility treatment or egg freezing and would consider egg sharing please call 0207 881 4078 or email odcoordinator@lfclinic.com to discuss further, come to an open evening or book an appointment.
