First IVF babble fertility retreat hailed a huge success

IVF babble has hosted its first ever fertility retreat, with dozens of women coming together to share their amazing stories of trying to conceive during the Summer Solstice weekend

The Big Reset, held at Danesfield House Hotel and Spa, Marlow-on-Thames and sponsored by Vitabiotics Pregnacare, was aimed at helping women relax and ‘reset’ before beginning their fertility journey.

The retreat included intimate talks from leading fertility specialists, a yoga session, group hypnosis and the chance to chat one-to-one with industry experts, including ITV’s This Morning’s fertility guru Dr Larisa Corda.

The event was also attended by Louise Brown, the world’s first IVF baby, who met with guests, who had travelled from across the UK to attend, to offer support.

IVF Babble co-founders Tracey Bambrough and Sara Marshall-Page said the day was magical and a lovely way to celebrate the Summer Solstice.

Sara Marshall-Page said: “We met the most amazing people who are all trying to conceive and were joined by the loveliest, most brilliant experts who spent so much time with each person making sure that no question went unanswered.

“We really didn’t want the day to end, it was perfect. The sun was actually out for the outdoor yoga and the group hypnosis session was a lovely addition, leaving us all in a beautiful state of calm.

“Huge thank you to Louise Brown for coming along, as well as all the experts and of course the guests who shared their stories and gave support to each other.”

The Big Reset was attended by specialists from clinics in the UK and abroad covering everything from egg and sperm donation to surrogacy, nutrition, acupuncture and self-care.

Tracey Bambrough said: “The aim of the day was for people to really focus on themselves and leave feeling armed with knowledge and ready to take on the next step in their fertility journey.

“Living and dealing with fertility issues is a hugely emotionally, financially and mentally draining experience so we wanted the retreat to offer a little bit of tranquillity.

“The feedback we’ve had since the event has been so overwhelming and we’re so pleased that people loved it and found it helpful. Our guests said it was intimate, inspiring and gave much needed advice and reassurance. We are definitely planning to run more similar events in the future.”

One guest said: “I arrived full of nerves and left with ideas, knowledge and a realistic plan. It was humbling to meet others trying to conceive and a fantastic opportunity to speak with the specialists.”

Another said: “It was a very intimate event in the most magical venue. The time spent with the experts one-on-one was totally priceless, I’m totally in awe still today that we’ve managed to sit with these experts that gave us their time and expertise that could make all the difference to us achieving our bubba.

“It was so refreshing to be amongst people all going through this journey, and not needing to educate anyone when talking about our situation.”

The event’s special guest was Louise Brown, the world’s first IVF baby born in 1978. Louise said: “This was such a lovely occasion and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting everyone and being part of the first ever retreat of its kind. It was really interesting to hear from the experts and I could tell the guests took a lot of useful information and reassurance away with them.”
