US supermodel Chrissy Teigen has revealed to her social media followers that she has begun IVF with husband singer John Legend
The 36-year-old told her 37 million Instagram fans that she was ‘balls deep in IVF’ and implored them to stop asking her if she was pregnant.
She said: “I wanted to let you guys know I’m balls deep in another IVF cycle to save as many eggs as I possibly can and hopefully make some strong, healthy embryos. I honestly don’t mind the shots…they make me feel like a doctor/chemist…but the bloating is a bitch, so I humbly beg you to stop asking if I’m pregnant because while I know it’s said with excited, good intentions, it just kind of sucks to hear because I am the opposite of pregnant!
“But, also like please stop asking people, anyone, if they’re pregnant. I said this in the comments and got yelled at because the internet is wild but I’d rather be the one to tell you and not some poor woman who will look you in the eyes through tears and that’s how you finally learn.”
Chrissy has had a turbulent time in the past few years. She tragically lost a son, named Jack, halfway through her third pregnancy, something that utterly devastated her and John.
She had IVF to conceive both her children, daughter Luna, five and three-year-old son, Miles, and has been open about her fertility journey from the outset.
After the pregnancy complications she experienced with Jack, Chrissy revealed she would not be able to carry another pregnancy. It is likely she will require the help of a surrogate.
She hinted as such in an interview she did with PEOPLE magazine. She said: “Coming to terms with not being able to carry again is difficult for me because I feel so healthy. I’m like, why?
“But then I think about how my uterus is just not cooperating with me – and it’s not a failure.”
She went on to say ‘there are many ways to have children nowadays’ and would consider surrogacy or adoption to have more children.
