Singer Paloma Faith has revealed she is pregnant with her second child after having six IVF cycles
The 39-year-old shared the wonderful news with her 545,000 followers via her Instagram account with a photo of her burgeoning belly.
She described her pregnancy as high risk and asked the media to give her space during this precious time.
She said, “It is with extreme pleasure I announce I am pregnant…I am not a skinny pregnant person and I am also a high risk in pregnancy so would like to ask the media not to run after me to get unflattering shots aa anxiety is detrimental to me and my baby.”
She said the child was very much wanted and it had been a struggle
“This child is so wanted,” she said. “It’s my sixth round of IVF and was a struggle to get here. I had a very traumatic first birth and I am also prone to postpartum depression.
“Being a mother is the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me, but I will swell up and I won’t glow. I intend to be very real about this with you all! To all the other pregnant women out there who are as in love with their babies as me but simultaneously shitting themselves, let’s do this.”
Paloma, who is in a relationship with French artist, Leyman Lahcine, said she will also be releasing music on her fifth album and possibly a tour next year.
The Voice Kids coach gave birth to her first child, a daughter, in 2016.
The eccentric singer said that she was uncertain the couple would have a second child after her IVF treatment was postponed in May 2020 due to coronavirus.
Fertility regulator, the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority(HFEA) paused all IVF treatment in April due to the pandemic.
Many couples had their cycles halted, with embryos being frozen.
IVF treatment was reinstated six weeks later after the government gave the green light for it to be restarted.
