US celebrity Maria Menounos has revealed she has started the process of surrogacy with husband, Keven Undergaro
The television presenter and actress told US media at a recent charity event in Los Angeles that the couple had, at last, sent off all the surrogacy paperwork.
The 41-year-old has long been open about her fertility journey
She had a benign tumour the size of a golf ball removed from her brain in 2018, all while her mother was battling stage four brain cancer.
She said at the time: “It is so surreal and crazy and unbelievable that my mom has a brain tumour, and now I have one too?”
The diagnosis meant she had to step down from her dream job as news anchor on E! Entertainment News.
But she refuses to let it define her
Her motto for life comes from a quote from the Rocky film, ‘It ain’t about how hard you hit, it’s about how hard you get hit and keep moving forward’.
Maria and Keven, who have been together for more than 20 years, married in 2017 and have had several treatments to create a family, but so far none have been successful.
She said the reason it had taken a while to send off the surrogacy paperwork was due to her mother’s recurrence of her stage four brain cancer.
She said: “Even though my mom is in this situation, I wanted to do things a little differently. I don’t want to stop life. We went and met with the agency.”
She added: “Maybe by next Christmas we will have little Marias and Kevens running around.”
IVF babble wish the couple well on their surrogacy journey.
