Women under the age of 40 could be eligible for two free rounds of IVF under new proposals due to be put before the New South Wales government
The state’s health department will meet fertility doctors from several hospitals this week who will propose the plan.
The state government promised $A42 million during the election to make fertility treatment more affordable for couples.
The doctors will also propose that women who have suffered cancer be offered a free egg freezing service to preserve their fertility.
There has been no timescale on when a decision on the proposals might be made but IVF babble will keep you updated on the outcome of the talks.
