IVF babble and the Lister Fertility Clinic are delighted to announce that three readers will each receive a free IVF cycle – making their dream of parenthood a step closer to reality
The world’s first IVF baby, Louise Brown, assisted in choosing the women from thousands who signed up to the offer at IVF babble’s first fertility retreat, held at the Danesfield House Hotel and Spa, in Buckinghamshire.
The three cycles bring the number of free IVF rounds given away by the magazine to 24 in the past year, with the first baby born this week in Scotland.
IVF babble co-founders Tracey Bambrough and Sara Marshall-Page said the reason they began the initiative was the huge number of women contacting them to tell them they could not afford IVF after the NHS IVF postcode lottery hit their area.
Tracey said: “Every day we speak to women who are devastated that their choices have been limited by such heartbreaking decisions being made by multiple clinical commissioning groups across the UK.
“You only have to log on to our social media pages to see how many women who need help, support and financial assistance. IVF is an expensive process, and many end up childless because they simply can’t afford it.
“We are working with many clinics across the globe to give as many women as possible an option that might otherwise seem impossible.”
Sara agreed and said they would like to thank the Lister Fertility Clinic for working with the magazine on the project.
She said: “This has only been made possible by the wonderful Lister Fertility Clinic getting on board with what we are trying to achieve. They understand the need and desire to be parents and we are so thankful to them for their support.”
Leading fertility consultant, James Nicopoullos, said: “We are pleased to have been able to support IVF Babble by donating three cycles of IVF as part of our ongoing partnership. It was great to join the world’s first IVF baby, Louise Brown, recently at the IVF babble fertility retreat to select the three recipients at random.
“Last year we celebrated 30 years of service in the fertility community and feel it’s important for us to continue our long standing tradition of helping those in need, wherever possible.”
