Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss has told US television presenter Andy Cohen she and husband, Todd will begin their surrogacy journey in the coming weeks
The multi award-winning singer and songwriter, Kandi, who has two children, tearfully spoke about a conversation she had with Andy when she learned of his own surrogacy journey, in which he recently welcomed son, Benjamin, on the E! Entertainment show, Busy Tonight, hosted by actress Busy Phillips.
She told Andy during a reunion episode that the couple will complete the transfer soon after confirming they had found a surrogate.
“I called you because I was watching what you were going through on the show,” she said.
Andy and Kandi talked candidly about their conversation in which Andy remarked that he remembered a specific part of the conversation in which Kandi said she was to have a baby mama.
He said: “Don’t you ever say that because you are the baby’s mother and if you say that you are taking away from yourself.”
Andy talked about his surrogacy journey and said he talked to his surrogate about her feelings on handing the child over, with her telling she ‘couldn’t wait to see you hold your child’.
Kandi and Todd have two girl embryos from when the couple completed IVF in 2016 and had son, Ace.
She has spoken in the past about her struggle to have a second child with Todd due to fibroids.
Kandi has a daughter, Riley, who is 18 from a previous relationship.
The 42-year-old’s surrogacy journey is documented on the latest series of the Real Housewives of Atlanta.
