How Xytex International supports its community

A soft, red fleece blanket lies in a cardboard box in Xytex’s international sales office

Throughout the winter, it will be joined by blankets of different colors and textures, all with one common purpose—they will keep Augusta’s homeless warm. It’s a simple effort, but one that demonstrates the heart of Xytex.

Since 1975, a hallmark of the sperm bank has been its caring, knowledgeable and courteous customer service

The decision to have a baby is one of the most important decisions a woman can make. Choosing the perfect donor is a very close second for couples who need to use donor sperm. Many customers say Xytex’s personal touch eases what is often an overwhelming decision.

That caring nature for women and children extends beyond the walls of the Xytex building. As the Christmas trees begin to light up for the holidays, Xytex’s holiday decor will include an Angel Tree, trimmed with the names of local children who may not have a Christmas this year. Employees will purchase gifts for these families to help make their Christmases a little brighter.

Early on the morning of December 1, Xytex employees will volunteer their time to give out water and cheer on runners at the Jingle Jam. Some will participate in the run themselves. The Christmas-themed 10km road race benefits Safe Home of Augusta, a shelter for victims of domestic abuse. It’s also a fun way for employees to be involved with the community.

Dr Joan Diamond, vice president of clinical operations, said: “Xytex has a long and proud community commitment here in Augusta, Georgia.  Since our humble beginnings in 1975, with our founder Dr. Karow, we have always felt a responsibility to our community and families. Building families is the heart of Xytex’s mission.”

Xytex’s calendar is already filling with opportunity for involvement in 2019

In March, employees will walk in the CSRA Heart Walk in March to benefit the American Heart Association. They will join the Relay for Life in May to benefit the American Cancer Society. In October, they will wear pink and participate in the Miracle Mile Walk to support breast cancer awareness. The Walk to End Alzheimer’s in November will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association, and Xytex will be there, as well.

The company is also teaming up with the United Way on several campaigns that specifically benefit families

United Way of the CSRA helps underprivileged families by connecting them with local nonprofits that offer the resources they need. Xytex will join their mission by collecting books for The Book Bash book collection drive, and socks and underwear for the Operation Seats & Feet drive. These drives will provide these very important items for children whose families can’t afford them. During the Stuff the Bus campaign, employees will collect school supplies, which will be used to fill book bags and loaded onto a real school bus, ready to be distributed to local students who need them.

Xytex will continue to provide top quality donor sperm to our customers, the core of our business, as we continue to support organizations that support healthy families.
