IVF Babble launch petition with Fertility Network UK to fight ‘NHS postcode lottery’

This week IVF Babble has launched an online petition with Fertility Network UK to fight back against the current NHS IVF postcode lottery

Since the magazine’s launch in November 2016, we have seen a huge rise in the number of Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) in the UK reducing or stopping NHS-funded IVF.

This is having a devastating affect on couples all across the country.

The pain of not being able to have a child is soul destroying enough, and now having the added heartache of not being able to afford it due to these cuts is too much.

This has to stop and the government needs to be doing much more to force CCGs to do what has been recommended by the National Institute for Clinical Excellence(NICE), which states in its guidelines that the NHS should offer women under the age of 40 three full cycles of IVF, if they have been trying for a child for more than two years.

We understand there are budget cuts within NHS and can see the need to make changes to accommodate this, but inflicting this much emotional strain on people who are at their most vulnerable and exposed is not right.

The World Health Organisation defines infertility as a disease and so it needs to be treated like one. Procreation is the most natural occurrence in the world.

We’ve heard so many heartbreaking stories from our followers and community, many who have said they have had to give up on their dream of becoming parents due to insufficient funds.

Others have put themselves into thousands of pounds worth of debt to realise their one wish to have a child.

All of us here at IVFbabble have experience of the IVF struggle and what it can do to our bodies, emotionally and physically, so we want to do all we can to get IVF back on the UK’s NHS map – forever.

How can you help?

We need to get to at least 100,000 signatures, so we need your help. We are doing this to fight to stop our community from being the victim of financial problems within the NHS that we have no control over.

All you need to do is click on this link or the image below to sign the petition and then share it with everyone you know, partners, family,  friends, colleagues on social media.

We need to the UK Government to start taking notice of the #TTC community and we won’t stop until they do.

Thank you. x
