Real Housewives of Orange County star Gretchen Rossi has criticised other older celebrities for failing to open up about their fertility
The 39-year-old star, who first appeared in the hit Bravo show from season four until season eight, is currently having a second IVF cycle with husband, Slade.
The couple have been together for years and have been trying for a child for several years. There first round of IVF failed after Slade had his vasectomy reversed in 2015.
Slade has two children from a previous relationship.
In a recent interview with People Magazine, Gretchen said a lot of older women in the entertainment world used donor eggs but were not being open about it.
She said, “Many celebrities in Hollywood glamorise the ability to have babies way up into your late 40s and the truth is that some of them are not telling the full story.
“A lot of women in their 40s are getting pregnant using an egg donor and not disclosing this. This is why we find it important to encourage women who are either career-focused or think they can just get pregnant way into their 40s to consider freezing their eggs while they are younger.”
She said she wished that someone had told her to freeze her eggs, but that it just wasn’t talked about.
The couple, who got engaged in 2013, are waiting on the outcome of their latest cycle.
