First baby born from frozen embryo | 1984

Zoe is the world’s first baby born from a frozen embryo and proves that it is possible to store embryos at very low temperature and use them later.

Zoe’s birth helps to overcome worries that couples expressed about what to do with ‘surplus embryos’ not used in the initial IVF treatment.
