Popular television presenter Cat Deeley has revealed she is expecting her second child with husband Patrick Kielty
The presenter, who is based in Los Angeles, announced the news via her Twitter feed saying she was ‘over the moon’ and that the whole family was ‘excited’ to become four.
The 41-year-old already has two-year-old son, Milo, with fellow television presenter and comedian, Patrick Kielty, after the pair tied the knot in 2012.
Many of her thousands of followers showered the star with congratulatory messages, with several celebrities joining in the joyous news.
Cat, who presents So You Think You Can Dance in the US, has talked openly about her desire to have more children and in recent interviews has told how doctors called her a ‘geriatric mother’, one of the reasons they did not wait very long to try again.
She said in a recent interview: “When you go for your check-ups they call you a geriatric mum. That is the terminology they use, I swear!”
According to NHS Choices website, women over the age of 35 are classed ‘older mothers’. This is due to the decline in the quality of the eggs they produce after that age range.
But it is not all negative, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the number of women having their first child in their 40s has doubled.
