Anyone who has been through, is in the midst of or is experiencing fertility issues, knows how painful the journey can be and the affect it can have on your relationship
Which is why, in the digital age of perfection, it is so refreshing to see McFly’s Harry Judd talking openly about the strain IVF had on his marriage to wife, Izzy, during their IVF treatment.
The drummer, who now has two children with his musician wife, has told The Sun’s Fabulous Magazine, that the strain of struggling to conceive nearly cost him his marriage.
Harry said: “Izzy so desperately wanted to be a mother and so as soon as we realised there was a problem, it took over her life.
“The dynamic changed because all the focus was on getting pregnant and in a way I lost her a little bit. I lost that smiley, confident, beautiful wife.
“Our wedding day was one of the happiest of our lives – cut to a year later and she is in total despair.”
Izzy has spoken to IVF babble on several occasions about the couple’s fertility journey and has recently had a book about her experiences published, entitled Dare To Dream.
The couple conceived daughter Lola via IVF, and earlier this year welcomed son Kit after they became pregnant naturally.
