Kim Kardashian reportedly expecting third child via a surrogate

US media is reporting that Kim Kardashian and rapper husband Kanye West are expecting their third child via a surrogate

The globally renowned reality TV star reportedly enlisted the help of a surrogacy agency and a woman from San Diego, aged in her late 20s, who is said to be three months pregnant.

But none of this has been confirmed by the couple’s representatives, who have so far kept tight lipped on the story.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star has been vocal about her desire to have another child with Kanye, and the subject of surrogacy was a main topic in the last season of the hugely popular E! Entertainment show.

Kim, 36, has two children with Kanye, four-year-old North and Saint, one, but was keen to add to her brood. She was told by fertility doctors due to a rare health condition, which affects her ability to carry another baby safely, she should opt for surrogacy.

At one point she even asked her sister Khloe to be her surrogate mother, something that Khloe first thought was a joke, but politely declined when she realised her older sister was serious.

Surrogacy is becoming more of a realistic option for many wannabe parents in today’s world, especially in the celebrity bubble

In recent months, footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has welcomed twins via surrogacy, former Shameless actress Tina Malone is considering this route for her third child and Lord and Lady Weymouth welcomed a baby son earlier this year via a US surrogate.

The average surrogacy in the US costs in the region of between $80,000 and $250,000

Couples looking into surrogacy traditionally hire a specialised agency that will guide them through the process, from initial tests to finding a suitable surrogate mother and legal issues and contracts.
