Scientists have revealed that freezing ovarian tissue rather than eggs can do more to preserve fertility
A study has shown that a third of women who froze their ovarian tissue went on to have a naturally conceived child.
Currently, the procedure is only available in the UK for medical reasons, but authors hope that it will be made available to healthy women as well.
The research was carried out by the New York College of Medicine and researched every case of ovarian tissue freezing from 1999 to 2016.
The results showed that 37 per cent of women had a child after freezing their ovarian tissue
It has been revealed that two of the three women were able to reverse their menopause and restore reproductive function and only one third of the women needed IVF.
