If you’ve been looking at alternative options for parenthood and think surrogacy might be one of them, then get yourself along to the London Surrogacy Conference taking place on March 11
The event has been organised by Families Through Surrogacy and visitors will receive advice from leading experts and hear personal experiences from surrogates and parents via surrogacy.
On hand to give their first hand advice on the surrogacy process will be Scott McGregor and his husband, Sascha. Their son Charlie was born via surrogate
Scott told IVF babble: “It was a great experience and we were particularly inspired by the willingness of others to help us create a family. We were keen to avoid a commercial process and partnered with people we trusted and felt very comfortable.”
They got to know their surrogate, egg donor and husbands very well and will stay in touch as Charlie grows up. They were granted parental orders by the UK High Court in January. Sascha and Scott will be at the London Surrogacy Conference to share their experience with those looking to grow their family via surrogacy.
The London Conference is arranged by parents via surrogacy for intended parents looking to start a surrogacy journey.
Organiser, Sam Everingham, said: “Surrogacy is an intense journey. Whether you are considering it, about to embark or half way through, the more support and information you have, the better. Given we only run our London and Dublin events annually, grab the opportunity now. Many of our delegates start long-term friendships after meeting fellow IPs at our events.”
Just some of the experts who will be at the conference, being held in London on Saturday, March 11 at 155 Bishopsgate, Liverpool Street, London, include Dr Said Daneshmand, San Diego Fertility Center, USA, Dr Guy Ringler, California Fertility Partners, USA and Jessica Hepburn, Author, Fertility Fest founder and Consumer Advocate.
A similar event will be held in Dublin on Sunday, 12 March
This will be at the Royal Marine Hotel, in Marine Road, Dun Laoghaire, with a slight difference in schedule and experts, such as Karen Synesiou, Center for Surrogate Parenting, Craig Reisser, International Patient Co-ordinator Oregon Reproductive Medicine and Dr Clifford Librach, Create IVF, Canada.
There will also be a social event taking place the eve of the conference from 5.30pm at the WE ARE Bar, 155 Bishopsgate, London on the Friday evening. For more information visit www.familiesthrusurrogacy.com/london
